AJ Bell Great North Run 2024

The Great North Run is one of the most iconic and biggest half marathons in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part in the famous 13.1 mile event. The course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields.

SportsAid has a limited amount of guaranteed places for the Great North Run on Sunday 8 September 2024. You can apply to run for SportsAid by completing our application form. This event is perfect for those wanting to take on a more challenging half marathon and receive a warm North East welcome in an unbeatable atmosphere. 

COST: £50 entry fee and £350 fundraising target (excluding Gift Aid)

Our Great North Run package includes all of the following benefits: 

  • Access to fundraising support, tips and ideas, as well as branded collateral and items to support any fundraising events. We’ll help you set up your fundraising page too. 

  • Training guidance through WeRun and from experienced SportsAid alumni.

  • Access to a team Facebook and Strava group connecting you with other SportsAid runners where you can share advice, tips, training stories and fundraising ideas for how to get sponsored. 

  • A designated contact at SportsAid to help with any questions you may have - supporting you all the way to the finish line. 

  • Information and updates on SportsAid’s work and how your fundraising supports the next generation of British athletes
