Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of SportsAid, has sent a message in support of this year's SportsAid Week. In the message, The Duchess praised the ‘commitment and dedication’ shown by the country’s brightest sporting prospects as she encouraged the public to ‘show their support for our next generation of athletes’. The Duchess became the Patron of SportsAid in 2013.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge praised SportsAid for ensuring 'there is a strong pipeline of inspirational heroes' as she addressed guests at the charity's 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner. The Duchess said 'the brilliance of SportsAid is in really understanding just how much athletic competition gives to our country as a whole'. She delivered the speech after talking to current and past recipients of SportsAid support.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will attend a special gala dinner hosted at Kensington Palace on Thursday 9 June in celebration of SportsAid's 40th anniversary year. Her Royal Highness, who has been Patron of the charity since 2013, will meet SportsAid supporters as well as ambassadors, alumni and young athletes set to compete in the forthcoming Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has praised SportsAid’s contribution to British sport and the difference its supporters have made to ‘thousands of young people and their families’ in a special message to mark the charity’s 40th birthday today. The Duchess became the Patron of SportsAid, the charity providing financial support and recognition to the next generation of British Olympians and Paralympians, in 2013.

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, the Patron of SportsAid, showed off her table tennis skills as she teamed up with Marcus Giles to face HRH The Duke of Cambridge and Denise Payet in a game of mixed doubles at the 23rd ICAP annual Charity Day yesterday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be joining SportsAid alumni, ambassadors and current athletes to help raise money for the charity by ‘closing deals’ on ICAP’s broking floors in London tomorrow (9 December).
