#MyMiles With is a series aimed at giving YOU an insight into the lives of the next generation of British sporting heroes. This time it’s the turn of Great Britain 110m hurdler Khai Riley-La Borde.

GVC launches new SportsAid partnership to support Britain's sporting future

GVC, the multinational sports-betting and gaming group, has yesterday (9 October) announced a new three-year partnership with SportsAid to support the next generation of British athletes. The collaboration forms part of a multi-million pound investment by GVC into grassroots, community and health through its CSR programme. A reception was held at the Houses of Parliament with opening remarks from Baroness Grey-Thompson.

BMX racer Ross Cullen selected as Team GB's Youth Olympic Flagbearer

SportsAid athlete Ross Cullen will have the honour of leading out Team GB at the Opening Ceremony of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games after being announced as Flagbearer. BMX racer Ross, who competes in the mixed team event on Sunday alongside team-mate Elissa Bradford, was selected by his fellow athletes for the role as Flagbearer with the team voting for which athlete best personified the Team GB values.

Boxing sensation Anthony Ogogo proves a knock-out with local businesses

Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo headlined the Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club at Wherstead Park last Friday (21 September) to help the local business community raise funds for Suffolk’s future sporting stars. Anthony, whose middleweight bronze success came at the London 2012 Olympics, was guest of honour as he reflected on the support he received from SportsAid at the beginning of his career.

With the help of SportsAid, I did my thing. I didn’t come from a wealthy family, and there were times when I thought ‘I need a job’ but I stuck to my swimming. Thankfully it did pay off. It's about gambling and making sacrifices. I put a high risk in myself and invested the time in what was going to make the difference to my swimming.

The final Bloomsbury Lunch Club of 2018 with Rayner Essex will be on Friday 2 November. Bloomsbury Lunch Club is held in the Princes Room at BMA House from 12:30pm – 2:30pm, offering an ideal environment for our informal networking event, and providing you with the opportunity to meet with other like-minded business people. Those who have attended our Bloomsbury Lunch Clubs in the past will know how different and enjoyable these networking events are. Admission to the event is free and we encourage you to bring along as many colleagues/contacts/friends as you like. All proceeds raised on the day are donated to SportsAid with the money going directly to support SportsAid athletes.
