SportsAid athletes win 46 medals in Rio as Team GB deliver most successful Olympic Games for more than a century

SportsAid athletes won 20 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals in Rio as Team GB delivered the country’s most successful Olympic Games in 108 years. The 46 podium finishes claimed by former beneficiaries of the charity came across 17 different sports. Track cycling was the best performing individual sport for SportsAid alumni with seven medals.

Team GB win first women's Olympic hockey gold with 16 SportsAid alumni in squad

Great Britain’s women’s hockey team emerged victorious from a dramatic penalty shoot-out against the Netherlands yesterday (19 August) to win the country’s first Olympic gold in the sport. The hockey success came before silver in the taekwondo for Lutalo Muhammad and bronze for the women’s 4x100m relay team.

NEW: Swim Serpentine The Serpentine Hyde Park London W2 2UH

Swim Serpentine is a exciting new open water swimming festival taking part in central London and organised by the London Marathon events. Held in the beautiful Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park, participants are challenged to take on a one mile open water swim in the same lake that hosted the London 2012 open water swimming competition.

Champions Tennis Royal Albert Hall

SportsAid is excited to announce it has been confirmed as the official charity partner of this year’s Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall. The event, taking place from 30 November to 4 December, will help SportsAid bring to a close its 40th anniversary celebrations as tennis legends John McEnroe and Pat Rafter headline the season-finale to the ATP Champions Tour.
