Aldi and SportsAid renew partnership for 2025/26

SportsAid is delighted to announce the renewal of its partnership with Aldi for 2025, with the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket continuing to back the next generation of British sporting talent.

SportsAid and Aldi first partnered in 2022, and so far have supported over 50 athletes who have each received vital funding and development opportunities to progress in their sporting journeys.

The renewed partnership will see Aldi support six of SportsAid’s rising stars over the coming year, as they pursue their ambitions of competing at future Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The athletes for 2025 are:

Ellan Fraser (Wheelchair Basketball)

Olivia Howeson (Skiing)

Owen Johnson (Para Swimming)

Karanpal Landa (Taekwondo)

Jailan Sohna (Athletics)

Bekah Walton (Athletics)

Aldi will also continue to align with SportsAid’s annual One-To-Watch award, which looks to shine a spotlight on the achievements of Britain’s brightest young sporting prospects.

Through the partnership, Aldi is helping to cover essential training and competition costs for athletes, while also providing access to SportsAid’s personal development workshops.

These cover key areas such as nutrition, mental wellbeing, social media training and lifestyle management, offering athletes the tools to thrive both in and out of competition.

The partnership also extends to Aldi’s award-winning ‘Get Set to Eat Fresh’ initiative, which has already inspired more than 2.6 million young people since 2015.

With the help of athletes, the programme teaches children aged 5–14 the value of affordable, healthy eating and equips them with the skills to cook nutritious meals.

Aldi’s backing of SportsAid complements its longstanding partnerships with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, strengthening its role in fuelling British athletes from grassroots to the global stage.

As SportsAid enters its 50th year, the charity has supported tens of thousands of athletes, distributing over £50 million in awards and providing a platform for them to share their stories and inspire others.

Tim Lawler MBE, SportsAid Chief Executive, said:

"I'm really excited and delighted that we're continuing our dynamic and purposeful partnership with Aldi"

"The Aldi team are great to work with and are committed to supporting SportsAid's work helping talented young sports people and their families have the most positive and enriching experience they can as they pursue their personal best.

“There is always a team behind the team - athletes, parents and care-givers, coaches and so on - and we see Aldi as part of our extended SportsAid team, encouraging, enabling and empowering the next generation of British sporting talent."
