Who Will Be 2025’s One to Watch?

We’re delighted to launch the One to Watch 2025 Awards, celebrating the next generation of Britain’s brightest sporting talent.

From Monday 17November and over the week, we will reveal the top 10 athletes on the shortlist for this year’s prestigious award, proudly supported by Aldi, SportsAid’s Official Supermarket Partner.

From a cohort of around 1,000 rising British stars across more than 60 sports, the shortlist recognises athletes who have shown exceptional talent, dedication, and potential.

Each of the top 10 will be unveiled daily across our social media channels, culminating in the announcement of the top three later in December.

Starting in 2006, the One to Watch Award has long been a trusted indicator of future success. Athletes are nominated by their sport’s governing body based on their performance, potential, and impact.

Past winners have gone on to stellar careers, with the award’s ‘Hall of Fame’ boasting household names such as Tom Daley OBE, Hollie Arnold MBE, Jodie Williams, Courtney Tulloch, Amber Rutter, Emma Wilson, and Alex Yee MBE.

Collectively, these athletes have amassed over 130 senior medals from Olympic and Paralympic Games, World Championships, European Championships, and Commonwealth Games.

Last year, the award celebrated the remarkable achievements of boxer Ruby White, who won the award after a memorable year, completing the European three-peat, as well as being crowned -48kg U19 World Champion.

We cannot wait to shine a spotlight on this year’s cohort of extraordinary athletes.

Keep your eyes on our channels throughout the week as we reveal the 10 rising stars set to become Britain’s sporting future.
