SportsAid Cymru Wales has supported many of the nation's most successful athletes of all time since being founded in 1985. Colin Jackson CBE, Geraint Thomas OBE, Nicola Cooke MBE, David Roberts CBE and Hannah Mills MBE  are just a few of these stars who benefited from the support of SportsAid Cymru Wales when starting out on their sporting journeys.

SportsAid Cymru Wales is the successor organisation to two formerly separate, but closely linked, charitable bodies, the Welsh Sports Aid Trust and Welsh Sports Aid Foundation. SportsAid Cymru Wales has distributed nearly £1.5 million in awards across close to 30 different sports. Rt Hon Kim Howells is the President of SportsAid Cymru Wales.

SportsAid Cymru Wales has its own charity number (1135438) and company number (07008455), working closely with the governing bodies in each sport, as well as Sport Wales. It is thanks to the ongoing generosity of organisations and individuals that the charity has maintained its proud record of assistance to the next generation for over three decades.
